Cancellation, absence and expulsion

  • If registration takes place in the middle of a month, the full month is charged
  • Cancellation must be made no later than the 22nd of the month; if the cancellation is received after the 22nd, the following month will also be charged
  • Cancellation must be submitted in writing to Adam at +4522906480 via SMS or WhatsApp. Cancellation directly to the teachers is not sufficient
  • Three absences without a valid reason will result in a warning to the parents. Continued absence may lead to permanent expulsion
  • In the event of expulsion, the same payment rules apply as for voluntary cancellation
  • The teachers may send home or expel students who do not comply with the school’s guidelines for good conduct, after at least one written warning

Waiting list and new classes

Registration is currently completely or partially closed. New students are only admitted if new classes can be created, and the biggest limitations are space in the mosque and a lack of suitable volunteers.

Put your child on the waiting list here: https://3272.foreninglet.dk/memberportal/subscribe/index/181586

Places from the waiting list are not allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority is given to:

  • Whether parents or siblings are volunteers in the mosque
  • Whether the parents are members, and how long they have been
  • Whether the family already has children in Weekendskolen
  • How long a person has been on the waiting list

You may only register your own children.

Weekendskolen - sign up for the interest list

If your child cannot start at Weekendskolen right now, you can add the child to the waiting list through this link:

https://3272.foreninglet.dk/memberportal/subscribe/index/181586

Being on the waiting list does not guarantee a place right now. The possibility of new places depends on whether the mosque has the capacity to start new beginner groups, which typically requires more room and more volunteer teachers. New groups are usually created only at the start of a new school year.

How to sign your child up

Membership and contact details

Membership is checked through the phone number registered in the membership system. If you are a member, your phone number should be updated here:

https://3272.foreninglet.dk/memberportal/frontpage

If your family is offered a place from the waiting list, you will be contacted at the phone number provided.

Allocation of places

It has not been finally decided exactly how places are allocated, but it will not be on a first-come, first-served basis. Membership seniority in the mosque will carry significant weight. In addition, the following will probably count:

  • Whether the child comes from a previous group in Weekendskolen
  • How early the person signed up for the waiting list

Expectations for the waiting list

  • The waiting list does not guarantee a place
  • It is unclear when new groups will start, and whether any new groups will be created in the future at all
  • The teachers are volunteers and may have changing life circumstances, and it is unclear whether there is capacity to start new groups

Good to know

  • There are no concrete plans for new groups for older children
  • Sign-up is not offered for other future activities beyond those that already exist
  • If a new group starts, it is likely that members will be allowed to register on equal terms with those on the waiting list
  • You can become a member via: https://linktr.ee/masjid.al.iman
  • Membership does not guarantee a place, but it may increase the chance and give a discount if you get a place

Weekendskolen - what can you expect from the waiting list?

The chances of getting a place from the waiting list are very limited. The real opportunity usually only arises if a new beginner class is created at the start of a new school year.

Why the waiting list moves slowly

Weekendskolen follows a fixed yearly cycle from September to June, with a break in July and August. The classes work through a fixed curriculum from the start of the school year, and new children can generally only begin right at the start of the course. After just two to three weeks, the classes are usually too far along for new children to keep up. As a general rule, no new students are admitted in the middle of the school year.

When can new places become available?

New beginner classes are the most realistic route from the waiting list to a place. If new classes are created, this will typically happen at the end of August or the beginning of September.

However, the mosque has limited premises and a limited number of volunteer teachers, and therefore new classes are rarely created. The likelihood of new classes at present is not high.

Short summary

  • The waiting list usually only moves if a new beginner class is created
  • This typically happens at the start of a new school year (August/September)
  • In the middle of the school year, no new students are generally admitted
